How Does Hydrafacial Work?
The Hydrafacial treatment session is relatively quick at just around 30-60 minutes, depending on which protocol is used. This gentle procedure is safe for all skin types and can be tailored to your specific skincare needs. It works by removing dead skin cells on the face while also extracting impurities that are often trapped in the pores. It simultaneously washes the skin with hydrating and cleansing/exfoliating serums to enhance the treatment and provide an immediate look of healthy, radiant skin.
The process itself works by:
· Cleansing and peeling: The process begins by removing the dead skin on the outer layer of the face with gentle exfoliation and resurfacing
· Extraction and hydration: Next, debris is removed from the pores using gentle suction and the skin is hydrated with hyaluronic acid, a nourishing and intense moisturizer
· Infusing and protecting: Finally, the skin is saturated with antioxidants and peptides to enhance its radiance and appearance
Who Can Benefit from a Hydrafacial Treatment?
The great thing about Hydrafacial is that nearly anyone can benefit from them. Whether you are a teenager struggling with acne or you are aging and trying to minimize signs of wrinkles, you will experience a multitude of benefits. You’ll leave our office feeling and looking refreshed.
Am I A Candidate for Hydrafacial?
The Hydrafacial treatment is designed for all skin types. Even the most sensitive skin easily tolerates the Hydrafacial treatment. Your physician or skincare professional may choose specific treatment serums and/or customize the treatment for your unique skin conditions and needs.
How Should I Prepare for Hydrafacial Treatment?
Refrain from receiving any laser treatments two weeks before treatment unless specifically instructed otherwise by our dermatologists.
You may schedule a Hydrafacial on the same day as Botox/Dysport treatment but it should be performed prior to your neurotoxin injections.
Refrain from excessive unprotected exposure to the sun. If you are outside during the hours of 10 AM and 2 PM, be sure that you are wearing a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a sun protection factor of at least 30.
Do not use any over-the-counter acne medications, such as salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Refrain from waxing and using depilatories. It would be best if you also refrained from any exfoliating treatments, like those containing active enzymes or glycolic acids. Finally, do not use any topical product containing tretinoin, such as Retin-A, for at least 48 hours before your treatment session.
We strongly recommend that men do not shave on the day of treatment. However, if you feel you must shave, make sure you do not shave within three to four hours of your appointment.
Is There Downtime with Hydrafacial?
Hydrafacial requires no downtime. Normal activities may be performed immediately after treatment.
How Soon Will I See Results of Hydrafacial?
Most patients see results of glowing, radiant skin immediately which last for up to seven days. While one treatment does help reduce the appearance of faint lines and wrinkles, discoloration, and clogged and oily skin, multiple treatments are often necessary to maintain the rejuvenated effects and promote the healthy revitalization of the skin.
How Long Does Hydrafacial Treatment Take?
HydraFacial is a fast, efficient treatment that takes as little as 30 minutes but depending on the protocol and add-ons used, it may take up to 60+minutes.
How Many Hydrafacial Treatments Do I Need?
One treatment per month is recommended for improving the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, brown spots, oily and congested skin. Continued Hydrafacial treatments are highly recommended to maintain skin health results.
Hydrafacial FAQ’s
Are Hydrafacial Treatments Good for the Skin?
Hydrafacials are good for the skin. They exfoliate the skin in a way we cannot perform manually, while simultaneously hydrating the skin. Thus, revealing clean, clear, glowing skin.
What Do I Need to Do After Hydrafacial Treatment to Prolong the Positive Results?
A good skin care regimen of cleansing, moisturizing, and sunscreen daily is very important. Any time you are exfoliating, revealing the bright, fresh skin underneath, sunscreen is necessary for protection.
Does Hydrafacial Hurt?
The Hydrafacial is not painful at all! In fact, it’s very relaxing.
Is Hydrafacial Safe for Sensitive Skin?
Hydrafacial is safe for sensitive skin because the machine is highly adjustable to suit all skin types. We can adjust the machine’s suction level to accommodate all patients, and we can adjust the serums used based on your skin type.
Does Hydrafacial Help Acne and Acne-Prone Skin?
Hydrafacials are great for acne because the suction of the machine cleans pores of dirt and debris. At the same time, it also infuses acne eliminating products like salicylic acid.
Does Hydrafacial Help Reduce Acne Scarring?
The HydraFacial is not a treatment for acne scarring, but it does help deter acne.
What Are the Side Effects of Hydrafacial Treatment?
Side effects can be pinkness and the occasional irritated blood vessel, but most people leave glowing.
Do I Need to Do Anything Special After Hydrafacial Treatment?
We advise gentle cleansing of the face for the first time post-treatment. We also recommend no harsh chemicals or Retin A for 1-2 days post-treatment.
Will I Break Out After Hydrafacial Treatment?
Some patients can break out after any facial treatment or change in skincare routine. It is not the norm with a Hydrafacial treatment.
