Extractions/ Steroid Injections

And, they will determine if a steroid injection alone or an injection in combination with an extraction will yield the best result.

Extraction is a technique whereby sterile instruments are skillfully used to remove comedones (blackheads) and small cysts (milia). A series of visits may be needed to eliminate all extractable lesions; and, routine visits to treat recurrent blackheads and milia are a great way to keep you looking your best.

A steroid injection is the treatment of choice for inflamed acne or cysts. Large inflamed or infected cysts, nodules, or abscesses may require incision and drainage (a procedure whereby the blemish is opened with a sterile needle or blade in order to drain its contents).
